Greek Isles and Aegean Treasures Cruise
Rome to Venice
October 13 - 27, 2011
Ship: Queen Victoria
Explore the tradition of luxury cruising that began in 1840 on board a Cunard cruise to one of the world’s most stunning and historically important regions. Begin with an overnight in Rome. Depart the next day for Naples, Italy, home to medieval castles and churches. During a day at sea, explore the Queen Victoria’s opulent amenities: fine restaurants, spas, daily afternoon tea and more. Next is beautiful Santorini, Greece, which sits on volcanic cliffs high above the ocean. Visit the birthplace of Homer in Izmir, Turkey, one of the region’s oldest settlements. Take two days and revel in the rich culture of Istanbul, Turkey – don’t miss the museums and vibrant marketplaces. After a visit to Samos, Greece, home to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Pythagoreion and Heraion, explore the Acropolis and other ancient ruins in Athens, Greece. In Zakynthos, Greece, snorkel with sea turtles along white sand beaches. A stroll along the famous city walls of Dubrovnik, Croatia, provides views of the ocean and fabulous architecture. Finally, sail to Venice, Italy, where you can soak up the city’s unique romantic atmosphere during an authentic gondola ride. Stay overnight on board ship and disembark the following day.
